Christmas is just around the corner, and it’s time that you started decorating your home. Here are some great ways to enhance your space, and make sure you woo your guests.

Choose a color theme

Before you start, the first step would be to choose a color theme for giving your space the ultimate Christmas treatment. You could opt for the traditional red and green or go with the more modern combinations of teal and brown, blue and silver, crimson/green and gold, purple and blue, or white and gold. All white/silver is also a Christmas favorite. Fixing on a color theme would make it easier for you to make better purchase decisions.

Cards by the yard

Make use of the greeting cards and/or letters that you’ve received over the years from your friends and family. Greeting cards not only make for a good Christmas décor, but they also bring back a lot of good memories. It’s also a great way to give a personal touch to your decorations. You could hang your cards on a thread, clip them on a wreath, stick them on a wall, or even pin/hang them on your Christmas tree.

Light it up!

What’s Christmas without a good amount of glitz and lighting? Make your space brighter and more beautiful by adding string lights and/or pillar/tea light candles. There are a variety of colors and shapes and sizes of these string lights and candles available in the market, so be sure to choose them wisely. These lights could be used in your interiors – the tree, the walls, the handrails, etc. and your exteriors – the door, the walkway, outdoor plants, etc.

Add life and freshness

Adding natural and fresh flowers and greens to your Christmas decorations is a great way to give some life to your space. You could use a fresh flower/foliage wreath, a fresh Christmas tree, pinecones/pine needles, etc. Apart from ensuring a laid-back look for your spaces, they’ll also give a natural aroma to your space.

Make an entrance!

Don’t forget the entryway and the front door – it’s important to give a good first impression to your guests coming over and the carolers. String lights, a beautiful wreath, paper stars, bells and bows, garlands, fresh flowers and plants like Poinsettia and Eucalyptus will all help to give your entrance that extra punch.
